SCEPTICISM

Devil and demons dug me deep
and dive in through.
Bones veer scarlet,
body turns out blue.
I pray more, believe less.
I dream more, sleep less.

I need to fix my faith,
to fix my curriculum vitae.
Built too many junctions
in path to reach the beneficient.
At every junction, I lose some,
some energy, some inklings.
I gain some,
some incredulity, some agnosticism.

I chant one God's hymns
but hymn differs with God.
They squint and solemnly say,
God is all-compassing
and all-complex too.
When they prostrate,
anxiety and strain vacant rooms
and they elucidate all intricate patterns.

My lord, you back forgiveness,
you protect world and heavens.
Preceptors and religion abet punishment
and profess your protection in parallel.
My deeds are way more religious
than my prayers and repentance.

You own numerous appellations.
You descended manual and scriptures
for man in every era.
All appended peace and humanity,
just contrasted the way to call upon you.

Last Sunday, I saw mortals brawling
over burning corpse that was
destined to be engraved.
A man, not in senses,
was chained near shrine,
as if his schizophrenia was a crime.

When we add orthodoxity to religion,
we become impious polytheists.
Cooperating with people for civility
and as an act of kindness,
does not make us more of a heathen.
